San Carlos Voicebox – Middle School Choir
The San Carlos Voicebox Choir is an afterschool choir who meet to have fun singing while learning a variety of musical genres and improving vocal and performance skills. We meet once a week from 1:40-3:15 pm on Wednesdays at Tierra Linda Middle School in the Band Room. We perform throughout the year including the opportunity for some to compete in the Heritage Festival at Disneyland in the spring.
Space and enrollment are limited so will initially be open to those who have been in Voicebox Choir the previous year. All remaining spots are open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders in the San Carlos Middle Schools. All those who are interested in a spot will need to audition for placement.
An Informational Meeting will be held on September 6th from 1:40-2:30 pm. Auditions will be held on September 13th from 1:40 pm-3:15 pm. Those auditioning may prepare any song (about 1 minute) to showcase their vocal range and ability. Once the members are chosen, they will receive a link to register via the SMART-E registration system.
The Voicebox Choir is sponsored by Music for Minors and SMART-E. Since it is an after school group, there is an enrollment fee for the entire school year. Students will receive a detailed syllabus with all the dates and times of rehearsals and performances along with expectations from the class on the first official day of choir and first rehearsal on September 20th from 1:40-3:15pm.
